To climb Mount Kilimanjaro successfully, it’s important to have the right gear. Here’s a basic list of what you’ll need for your adventure:
1. Clothing
- Thermal base layers (tops and bottoms)
- Fleece jackets and pants
- Waterproof and windproof jacket
- Insulated down jacket
- Hiking pants and shorts
- Warm gloves, hat, and scarf
2. Footwear
- Waterproof hiking boots (well broken-in)
- Gaiters (to keep dirt and snow out)
- Hiking socks (wool or synthetic)
- Camp shoes (light and comfortable)
3. Backpacks & Bags
- Daypack (20-30L capacity)
- Duffle bag (for porters to carry your gear)
- Waterproof bag covers or dry bags
4. Sleeping Gear
- Sleeping bag (rated for cold temperatures)
- Sleeping pad or mattress
5. Accessories
- Sunglasses with UV protection
